I lived a couple of years with my girlfriend without any telly (the days before downloads). The relationship didn't last. Not because we had no telly, but next relationship, I went back to having a telly and I do prefer it for all the other stuff I'd not bother trying to get hold of. Like Strictly Come Dancing. Wallander. The Ascent of Money. Little Dorrit. I love having EyeTV with a couple of tuners and a couple of terabytes of storage.
