At least get it in context. ""If I wanted Obama to succeed, I'd be happy the Republicans have laid down. And I would be encouraging Republicans to lay down and support him. Look, what he's talking about is the absorption of as much of the private sector by the U.S. government as possible, from the banking business, to the mortgage industry, the automobile business, to health care. I do not want the government in charge of all of these things. I don't want this to work. So I'm thinking of replying to the guy, 'Okay, I'll send you a response, but I don't need 400 words, I need four: I hope he fails.' (interruption)" In so much as Obama wants to effectively nationalize the banks and the health care system and take an ownership stake in the car industry I hope his attempts fail too. I'm am not a socialist and I did not support his programs. Nothing about that has changed and there is no reason to expect the right to sit idly by and let him rule. He is the President, not the king and he gets to attempt to govern not rule. The opposition party has an obligation to oppose those things they disagree with and to do so very vocally. When Obama proposes programs that violate my fundamental view of where this country should go, I will oppose the program. That doesn't mean I want the man to personally fail but it sure means that I expect the Republicans to remain opposed left wing policies. =c= _______________________________________________ OSX-Nutters mailing list | [email protected] http://lists.tit-wank.com/mailman/listinfo/osx-nutters List hosted at http://cat5.org/
