A friend switching from PC to Mac is running Vista in Bootcamp on his MBPro17+24inch display
This error comes AFTER he'd installed VMWare FUSION ... but even when simply running Vista from Bootcamp: " Spooler subsystem app stopped working and was closed " He googled and found out that Fusion can bung up the print driver in Vista. http://www.experts-exchange.com/OS/Microsoft_Operating_Systems/Windows/Windows_Vista/Q_23735318.html He can't add a new printer service in Vista due to the print spooler problem However, I'm not convinced Fusion had anything to do with this because I see this error when I google for it and VMWare is not mentioned. Seems like a VISTA problem. He's moved his AutoCAD work to the Mac and has been running it from Bootcamp. Last night, he installed Fusion ... and tried running AutoCAD but said the performance was too slow to be usable. Today, he went to print his CAD document and the problem with the spooler appeared. So he closed down Fusion and rebooted via Bootcamp. The problem persisted. I've never heard him swear so much. Anybody on this list aware of the spooler problem and how he can solve it? Apparently Vista won't let him set up a new printer given the spooler problem. He said he found some solutions online that required that he edit the registry, but it didn't work.
