That is the Pulgas Water Temple. It's on CaƱada Road in San Carlos,
in
the San Francisco Bay Area.
The temple is the western end of the Hetch Hetchy Aqueduct which carries
water from the reservoir at Hetch Hetchy in the Sierra Nevada 270 km
to the San
Francisco water district in the Bay Area. The other photo (of the
lake) is Lower
Crystal Springs, one of the reservoirs fed by the aqueduct. The
whole lake system
and water temple are about 10 km from where we live, and there's
a great walking/biking trail beside Lower Crystal Springs that goes 10
km north up to the
dam at San Andreas reservoir . . .
Cheers,
. . . . . . . . Henry
