'Every update'?

I install sshd as part of my initial install. Messed with it, changed the 
password, then updated sshd. The password was not changed.

I could be misremembering the order, but I don't think so… 

Maybe if you rejailbreak/reinstall?

Anyway, it's trivial to turn off the sshd, and I keep it off unless I am 
actually using it.
