Do you primarily concentrate on adaptive and assistive equipment or are
there other issues that you deal with - I'm thinking about issues such as
manual handling or life story work?

There are other things, depending on the client, and I do work on upper
extremity function sometimes with gross and fine motor exercise and teaching
them a program to do daily.  But in our current climate, my visits are
usually limited and the thing that seems the most important is toileting,
dressing, and bathing.  If they are at a higher level and/or live alone, I
also work on meal preparation and kitchen safety.  On my first visit I always
ask what is the one thing they would most like to be able to do for
themselves, and get a start about direction that way.  -- Jody
