Dear Linda,  There is a lot to consider when you say Augmentative Devices.  Start at www.augmentative.com This should take you to a Dynavox web page.  Look for their Report Assistant.  Go through it like you would be printing out the report.  this will give you TONS of information on what OT/PT and ST should be looking for in evaluationg someone for a device.

Other companies to look into are:  Able Net, RJ Cooper, Assistive Technology, Inc.

I am a Speech Pathologist and Director of Clinical Services.  I have found that many places refer AAC directly to ST and "Forget" that OT and PT are critical to the process.  Especiall OT and the functional/occupational point of view to justifying why someone would need a device, and what type of device (high tech vs low tech) would they be able to access best.

Any other specific questions??

Good Luck!
