It's not important the MTA, I use OTRS with postfix without problem or configuration hack. OTRS send email via MTA indipendent interface (/usr/sbin/sendmail wrapper or port 25).
To fetch incoming email you can use a standard pop3 account. If you prefer interfacing otrs with procmail, alias,etc.. you can do this with any MTA.
