I haven't used Solaris 10 in about 2 years now but if I remember the commands correctly. Check the status of the syslog service: svcs -pv system-log To restart the service: svcadm restart system-log
Now Solaris had a bad bug at one point I remember very clearly on a box that I had running Oracle.
