I am seeing some email delivery delays. (I sort my mail by arrival date,
not Date: header.) Makes sense with this being a DNS issue and outbound
MTAs having a issue looking up destination domains (or one of the other
dozens of DNS lookup emails systems do now) and are now on their 4
hour delivery retries.

That's because this is discussion, it was all over outages proper.

Isn't that the second major Akamai outage this year?

Something about all your eggs in one basket springs to mind.

As an aside - that The Sun article must have been written by an
intern. A "nationwide 911 outage detected" - but only in some states.
