Hi all, I've picked up a 6100/60 with (as I thought at the time) a flat PRAM battery - it was displaying all the classic signs thereof, i.e. display not initialising at boot unless I flick the power off & quickly back on, I'm stuck in 1956 etc.
So I took out the old battery (to drain the circuit) - bought a new one, put it in but no joy - even after several reboots the system behaves the same.
I even doubted the brand new battery so I tried it in an LC475 - works fine.
Does anyone have any ideas about fixing this as the machine isn't really useful in its current state, or do I cannibalise it for parts??
On the motherboard is a little switch (its a little button actually) called the "Cuda Switch". Push it in to reset everything (similar to, but different from reseting the PRAM).
You could try reseting the PRAM, hold down the Option-Command-P-R keys all at the same time while while machine is starting up, keep holding down until the third chime then let go and the machine will startup as per normal.
