I will just about drive to Adelaide for one of those. Would the processor card drop into any Mach V 8600 or 9600 or was there something different about the motherboard? I am unwilling to gut the 9600. A knowledgeable local Outback Mac correspondent has expressed confidence that the 9600's troubles can be overcome and is willing to give it a go.
Meanwhile, I have no knowledge of the degree of interchangeability of the bits. Sorry.
