ADSL? Not that I am aware of. He has been advised by a person very close to the scene that no external USB modem, suitable for an iMac, exists.
The person in question undertook an extended search for just such a modem. Apparently, one manufacturer did produce one but stopped production owing to lack of demand.
It can also state that my friend's insurance company denied his claim for the lightning strike damage. He is now further pursuing his claim with them.
