I have a LaserWriter 4/600 hooked up to my G3 (via an asante
ethernet bridge). I'm about to hook up my windows xp pc to my macs
via ethernet. Does anyone know of a driver for xp that will allow me
to print straight from the PC?
You aren't facing a driver issue. The 4/600 PS is a PostScript Level
2 printer. The stock PS driver that ships with XP will send jobs the
4/600 can parse and print.
The problem is how the 4/600 receives jobs. It only talks AppleTalk.
No SMB, No TCP/IP. Just AppleTalk.
You've got it talking AppleTalk over Ethernet via an Asante Ethernet
Bridge, so the physical connection isn't a problem. Plug your PC into
the ethernet LAN and the PC can talk to the printer. But it still
requires AppleTalk on the PC for the PC to say anything the printer
will understand.
You can buy an AppleTalk stack for Windows from CA (who bought
Miramar, the original developers of this product, in December 2004).

Thursby Systems -- <http://thursby.com/> -- made a competing product
called TSStalk, but it hasn't been updated to support XP. Also, it
looks like the product has been discontinued so I doubt it ever will
be updated.
