Your follow-up points to the fact that there must be rafts of
hardware, software, accessories, add-ons
take-aways and other bits and pieces a'mouldering in many cupboards
around the country.
Like numerous others, I have some once-very-expensive software lying
dormant. PhotoShop 3 for example.
What a waste. There has to be a better way!

I've collected give-away bits & pieces to save them from the skips
(dumpsters), but don't seem to be able to give them away.
Stupid, because these are still user-friendly machines, internet-capable...
... it's a matter of being able to find takers, and provide enough
software for them to be able to USE them... after all, a
computer-newbie won't be able to source discontinued Mac software
easily, and I suspect that that is the main problem in finding new
homes for these deserving computers.
