I can go one better on that, I signed up with the wrong address so I didn't confirm the signup (from the confirmation email) and then signed up and confirmed with the address I wanted to use. Only now I get messages from the google group twice, once with correct address and once with the incorrect one.
Now when I went to unsubscribe the email address I didn't want to get these emails google tells me that address isn't subscribed...
