Location: Las Vegas, NV/San Francisco, CA Duration: 6+ Months Rate: $35-37/Hr Best JOB DUTIES: Client in Las Vegas, NV is seeking a Senior Web Designer for a contract position. We are seeking a Senior Web Designer who is creatively talented, has a good technical understanding, and is really good at combining creativity and website design to achieve business objectives. You must be a perfectionist who obsesses over pixel-perfect designs while be able to juggle multiple projects at one time. You have a solid background in designing for and managing robust websites and constantly challenge yourself to surpass your previous great works. You are good at utilizing user interface techniques and best practices to achieve the best user and customer experience. You must be highly self-motivated, creative, innovative and well versed in website design, enhanced features and functionalities, information architecture, UI and UX. ESSENTIAL DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES: Lead in the design and maintenance of visual elements of a dynamic content and e-commerce web based application. Develop high-quality and broad range of creative solutions and concepts that are new, refreshing, and exciting. Be able to present the creative vision and business thinking behind the concepts. Able to design the UI keeping in mind the various customer branding needs for the same site. Work closely with team and cross-functional groups to define and create designs that deliver on achieving business objectives and satisfying user experiences. Create engaging, high-quality, interactive design solutions for website after learning the existing application flow. Expert in UI, UX and IA for all aspects of the website that includes improvements in: user interface in menu, navigation and design, user experience in flow of website relative to details of information architecture, content and creative flow and balance, capitalization of user expectations Participate in all website design and specifications Define design consistency across the entire site. SKILLS / EXPERIENCE: 5+ years experience working on large-scale, dynamic and creatively sound websites 3+ years of ecommerce experience related to form based applications. Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, HTML, CSS, JavaScript and AJAX experience required. Flex knowledge desirable. Strong knowledge of standards and best practices for online website application, including user interface, user experience design and information architecture as well as impressive samples of work in the online world. Strong understanding and practice of the importance of designing to meet business and project objectives. Strong conceptual skills, a meticulous eye for detail, and the ability to take a project from inception to completion. Ability to work independently and with cross-functional teams in a collaborative, teamwork environment. Ability to take and give creative direction and go through iterative rounds of revisions to deliver best work Online portfolio and sample URLs required for application Strong understanding of Web 2.0 practices, applications, design practices and trends A design degree is preferred (BFA/MFA in graphic design, digital media design or other visual arts).
