Research Analyst/Scientist * Position Overview: The Research Analyst/Scientist will closely work with a team of scientists, engineers, analysts and statisticians to support the development of algorithms for natural hazard models used to estimate and manage financial risk around the world. Qualifications: * Ability to gather, understand, and critically analyze data from all relevant sources, such as weather/climate information, insurance data, crop yields, etc. * Solid technical programming skills gained through practical experience using a high level scripting language (e.g., R, MATLAB, Python, etc.) and/or high level compiled language (FORTRAN, C, C++, etc.) * Familiarity and comfort with manipulating large data sets * Basic knowledge in statistics * Demonstrated self-directed ability to learn new concepts and skills * Excellent verbal communication skills * Experience with GIS software (ArcView, MapInfo) a plus * 2+ years professional experience in a technical environment * M.S. or Ph.D. degree in physical science, engineering, mathematics, or statistics Thank you, Team DEVFYI - Developer Resource FYI http://dev.fyicenter.com --~--~---------~--~----~------------~-------~--~----~ Introduce business in 3800 cities.
