Title: Linux Systems/Network Administrator Location: Mountain View, CA Duration: 3-6+ Months (Multiple Extensions) Rate: Open (Keep low) *Overview:* Linux System/Network Administrator *Responsibilities:* In the position of System/Network Administrator you will be responsible for setting up and maintaining both internal and external Linux servers. Internally you will be working closely with all business units within Client in deploying and supporting all Client's Linux (RedHat) hw/sw needs. Experience with CFengine, Bind DNS, VPN, Firewalls, VLANs, Load Balancing, Nagios, Wiki, Zillas, Call Tracking Systems, Web Servers etc. as well as helping implement Client IT best-practices (high availability, security, DR, daily backup etc.) Externally, you will be responsible for supporting the Linux servers running in the Applications Hosting Data Center in support of the Client Hosting team and Client's customers. This includes, but not limited to: * Installing, configuring, and deploying the hardware/software required to support the hosted applications. * Providing technical support to the Applications Hosting team and/or R&D team. This includes installing and configuring upgraded applications and layered software (Oracle, JBoss, Tomcat, etc.) releases, assisting with application testing & benchmarking etc. * Monitor and track security and uptime of systems per policy and SLA * Providing and updating technical documentation, systems/network infrastructures, and operational procedures * Providing telephone and/or on-site support to customers *Desirable Experience:* * Bachelor in CS, EE, or technical degree is preferred * Strong verbal & written communication skills is a must. * At least 7 years of hands-on experience in a System/Network Administration role is required. * Good knowledge of general systems architecture, OS, networking services & protocols, databases.
