*Please respond to [email protected]* * * *Title: Tivoli (TSM - Tivoli Storage Manager) Administrator* *Location: Charlotte, NC* *Duration: 6+ Months* *Description:* We are looking for a backup administrator with understanding of backup architectures related to IBM Tivoli Storage Manager (TSM), EMC Avamar and Microsoft Data Protection Manager (DPM). The selected candidate will work with a team of Backup Storage Administrators managing the daily tasks of backups for distributed systems. including monitor all platforms for missed/failed backups, monitor capacity in all areas, monitor activity logs for potential problems, investigate hardware/software errors, log internally and open cases with vendors as necessary, analyze historical trend data to make configuration recommendations, audit all aspects of data backups to ensure the integrity of backup environment. Team is part of a 24x365 operations staff with after hour work and rotating on-call responsibilities. A bachelor's degree in computer science or related field is preferred. No remote work for this position; must be onsite. Candidate must have 6-9 years experience with TSM; experience with Avamar and DPM is a plus. 1. Experience with both physical and virtual tape/disk drives and library backup and restore technologies. 2. Knowledge and understanding of de-duplication 3. Tools support including ServerGraph and DPA 4. Strong understanding of a SAN / NAS 5. Tuning backup to decrease backup window 6. Document procedures as a guidance for other teams 7. Scripting is a plus to automate jobs and produce reports 8. Assist with the development and testing of the Disaster Recovery Plan 9. Experience working with large databases, lan-free backup solutions, disk-SAN-backup implementations. 10. Experience installing and maintaining enterprise backup and recovery software 11. Ability to work on cross-functional teams providing technical direction for storage/backup issues and projects 12. Analyze and troubleshoot root cause of failures 13. Experienced with Microsoft and Unix based operating systems 14.
