Job Description: Description The Department of Education is seeking an experienced security specialist with a focus on security architecture development, integration and administration. This position will be responsible for designing, building, maintaining and enhancing the SESIS security model and integration between the new SESIS system and the Client technical environment, This is a critical position in which the successful candidate must be able to hit the ground running. Expertise Required: a) Information Security b) Active Directory and Security Systems Integration c) Security Administration Responsibilities � Work with functional and implementation teams to implement role based security for hosted web applications. � Facilitate developing functional specifications based on security requirements that can be used to implement the SESIS security architecture. � Develop, analyze, evaluate, and recommend information security architecture approaches to meet business unit and enterprise information and business security needs Perform discovery and design work to develop security architecture. � Perform significant integration design and development work with Active Directory and SAML. � Support the overall implementation of the SESIS solution. � Actively participate in the development, implementation and adherence to project and DOE documentation practices, system standards, policies and procedures � Perform as technical expert in the design, development, coding, documenting, testing, and debugging of security integration. � Coordinate implementation activities between the SESIS project team and DIIT Security Team. � Mange actions, issues and risks associated with the implementation of the Security plan. � Monitor and communicate status of the SESIS Project �s activities related to security. Qualifications � Proficiency in the security policy and administration systems integration of systems of moderate size/complexity. � Hands-on project experience designing and implementing security architecture and integration, � Hands-on project experience with Microsoft Active Directory Web Services and Security Assertion Markup Language 2.0 (SAML 2.0) � Hands-on project experience designing and implementing custom security administration workflows, user role and permissions based access controls � Bachelor �s degree in information systems, computer science or related field is required. � Specific training and certifications is a plus � Excellent oral and written (including technical writing) communication skills are required. � Excellent decision-making and problem solving skills are required. � Proven ability to work in cross functional / matrix organization is required.
