*Description:*

The project is a front to back renovation of equity derivative trade capture
and lifecycle management processing at the firm. An aggressive programme of
change which will see the implementation of a new global processing platform
for vanilla and exotic equity derivatives encompassing trade capture,
lifecycle processing, affirmation, confirmation, collateral management and
settlement. Technologies: Java and DB2.


We are looking for a powerful java developer with experience of derivatives
to develop within our portfolio of work for 2010. The role will require
close interaction with Sales, Trading, Financial Engineering and Operations
in a dynamic, team based environment. Agile methodologies are used to
deliver regular release cycles to the business users and as such, experience
of agile techniques is desirable. The candidate needs to be commercially
focused, demonstrate a strong delivery track record in either equity, credit
or fixed income derivatives, and be able to manage the balance between time
to market and flexible, future proofed architecture. Openings exist in both
the vanilla and exotic derivatives arena. This role represents an excellent
opportunity to work closely with front office users, learn an exciting and
complex business area and deliver a strategic technology platform which will
provide competitive advantage for the firm.
Education Level - Degree in Computer Science or related subject from top
tier university.




*Skills Required:*

-          Strong Core Java and its open source technologies, e.g. SOAP,
Spring

-          Experience with server side development on Linux/Unix environment
with knowledge of XML, TCP/IP, Perl/other scripting language

-          Experience with DB2/Sybase and stored procedure programming

-          Experience with production support and environment management.

-          Knowledge of SDLC best practice

-          Experience working in financial industry

-          Strong communication skills
