*Common requirements:*

- 5 to 10 years of working experience in Embedded Telecomm Software
development with C/C++
- RTOS experience with OSE, pSOS or VxWorks

- Skilled in scripting languages (e.g. Tcl/Tk, Expect)

- Skilled in Object Oriented analysis and design

- Experienced with source level debuggers (Multi, SDS, Xray, etc.)

- Experienced with Clearcase/ClearDDTS

- Familiar with Frame Maker

- Dedicated, goal oriented, and team player





*Common Desired: *
- Familiar with Data Comm protocols such as: MPLS, GMPLS, OSPF, RSVP, LMP,
LDP, UNI, and NNI

- Familiar with network management protocols like SNMP, TL1, XML and CLI

- Knowledge of OSI Data Communications protocols, Integrated IS-IS, IP
Routing, and G.7712

- Experience using UML design tools

- Experience with Distributed DB systems and Backup/Restore, Distributed
Software Download.





*Data Services:*

-       Experience with Ethernet Transport over SONET/SDH/WDM or ATM

-       Experience with Data Services ELINE, EPL, EVPL, and ELAN

-       Experience with Service Layer OAM protocols (CCM, Loop Back, Link
Trace, etc.)

-       Experience with Traffic Management, Traffic Classification, CoS,
Policing and Shaping

-       Experience with Network Processor Unit (NPU) based feature
development

-       Experience with Link OAM protocols

-       Experience with LAG, and LACP

-       Experience with Provider Backbone Transport (PBT) or Provide
Backbone Bridging - Traffic Engineering (PBB-TE)

-       Experience with S and C Tag Switching

-          Experience with point to multi-point (P2MP) Ethernet Services
(VLAN and PBB-TE)

-          Experience with Protected VLAN-based EVCs

-          Experience with PWE3 (Psuedowire)

-          The following are some standards that are relevant to our
development:

802.3: Ethernet physical layer

802.3ah: EFM or Ethernet in the first Mile (Link OAM)

802.3ad: Link aggregation

802.1ag: IEEE service OAM (Connectivity Fault Mgmt- per service/VLAN OAM)

Y.1731: ITU service OAM for Ethernet

802.1D: MAC bridging/Spanning tree etc

802.1Qay: Provider backbone bridges-Traffic Engineered (PBB-TE)

BFD – Bi-directional Forwarding Detection-IETF draft spec.

G.8031: VLAN Protection

802.1ah/ak: PBB

Layer2 VPN Pseudo Wire

IGMP Snooping

IEEE 1588





*HW/SW Interfaces:*

- Experience developing hardware/software interfaces, device drivers and
Interrupt Service Routines (ISRs)

- Experienced with Logic Analyzers, BDMs, Emulators, and other debugging
tools

- Experience developing device drivers for SONET/SDH/WDM devices

- Experience with developing device drivers for Network Processor Units (NPU
- e.g. X11) and Traffic Management ASICs

- Knowledge of Broadcom L2/L3 switches







*SONET/SDH/WDM Transport (desired):*

- Strong knowledge of SONET, SDH and WDM protocols (e.g. GR-253/GR-1400)

- Experience in one or more of UPSR/BLSR/APS/1+1/1:N protection schemes

- Experience is Performance Monitoring and Alarming

- Experience in VCAT/LCAS

- Experience with Digital Wrapper and G.709
