Oracle Application DBA
Oracle DBA Certification is a plus.
Biopharmaceutical experience is a plus.
Duration: 6m +
Location: SFO, CA
The Application DBA is responsible for support and enhancement of the
Financials, Manufacturing, Order management and Distribution modules in
the Oracle Applications environment (R12).
In this role, you will implement and maintain our database systems for
performance, high availability, scalability and recoverability.
You will be interfacing with developers and infrastructure engineers in
day to day support of ERP system, code migration, upgrading/patching,
sizing and refreshing for multiple environments in phased rollouts.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Responsible for performance tuning, troubleshooting,
monitoring, and resolving technical issues.
· Participate in capacity planning, trend analysis, performance
forecasting exercises and propose recommendations to meet the ongoing
performance and scalability demands.
· Perform installation, configuration, debug, code migration,
upgrade, patch, scalability testing, backup and disaster recovery and
database optimization.
· Work with development team to determine system data
management requirements, implement supporting databases and monitor
performance.
· Provide support and guidance to development teams and support
production systems.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related field.
10+ years Oracle DBA experience with 7+ years Application DBA
experience.
· Oracle EBS implementation experience is a must.
· Have understanding of Java, Oracle application Framework, and
J2EE framework.
· Experience in configuring/managing environments with
failover/high availability requirements.
· Proficient with Oracle database 11g on Linux, Active Data
Guard, OEM Grid Control and RMAN.
· Thorough knowledge of the Oracle Applications Framework,
architecture, and technology stack.
· Experience in installation, configuration, upgrade and patch
of Oracle R12.
· Proficient with instance/sql/application performance
optimization.
· Ability to size and forecast Oracle database servers based on
transaction volumes, usage, growth and the response time requirements.
· Experience in OBIEE and data warehouse systems a plus.
· Experience in VM technology a plus.
· Must be willing to provide off-hour and weekend support.
