*AS/400 QA person** or very sharp QA person** for a **long-term
**Contract-to-Hire
position. **Someone capable of writing Test Plans on their own, capable of
working independently. If they don’t know as 400, candidate has to be
extremely sharp, top of the QA profession, but The IDEAL Quality Assurance
Analyst would be comfortable with all activities involving quality assurance
and compliance with applicable application requirements should know how
to navigate libraries and use utilities like dbu, wrkqry, strsql to perform
data verification and must know Imbedded SQL on AS 400*
The QA Analyst will conduct program testing, audits and reviews of data and
documentation on new program s and/or program enhancements of small to
medium scale.
The qualified candidate possesses working knowledge of a variety of the
field's concepts, practices, and procedures. Additionally, conducts various
types of testing to ensure complete quality of application for release.
Also coordinates with business analyst, programmer and other project team
members. Designs, develops, implements and maintains software test cases
and test plans to evaluate software functionality, performance and defects.
*TYPE OF SUPERVISION RECEIVED:*
The Quality Assurance Analyst works closely with other associates to
complete the prioritized assigned tasks. Assignments are checked at least
once a week to verify progress, through a reporting mechanism, by the
supervisor. The QA Analyst routes questions for direction, priorities and
customer correspondence through mentor or QA Manager.
DUTIES AND TASKS, Including but not limited to the following.
Seeking minimum guidance, the QA Analyst:
· Designs and executes manual and automated tests to ensure proper
operation and performance of software applications.
· Designs, develops and implements QA test plans and test cases for
new and enhanced software releases.
· Performs all aspects of verification, including functional,
structural, regression, load, system testing and user acceptance testing
with the user.
· Documents test results and logs errors; recreates them as needed,
tracks errors through to resolution and escalates issues when appropriate
· Writes SQL scripts and utilizes testing tools to utmost capability
· Ensures continuous improvement of the testing process by analyzing
how production problems were missed in testing and subsequently correcting
the testing process.
· B. Additional responsibilities:
*Participates in requirements and user training
*Performs requirements analysis to develop or modify moderately complex
software applications.
· Documents to standards the functional requirements, use cases and
any other requirements documents, process flows and screen prints.
· C. Participates in and/or conducts training, meetings and report
preparation.
· D. Once the prog ram has been fully tested, writes the user
documentation, trains user(s), obtains user/requestor sign off and provides
final project documentation for project closure.
*Qualifications*
· Bachelors degree, preferably in IT related area, or equivalent
experience
· 1-4 years of technical experience in application analysis, testing
and/or support
· Proficient in databases, MSWord, Excel, SQL & Lotus Notes
· Strong organizational and analytical skills
· Interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate technically,
both written and verbal
· Knowledge of SQA project involvement, application development life
cycle and methodologies
· Ability to multi-task and meet deadlines and ask for help as
necessary
Building knowledge of any of the prog ram ming platforms used in IS (RPG,
Java, Lotus Notes, VBScript/ASP, C++)
· Basic proficiency in testing types and tools used in QA
· navigate libraries and use utilities
· perform data verification
· Knowledge of Imbedded SQL on AS 400
· Good knowledge of the major testing types comprising a test cycle
including functional, integration, regression and system testing and error
handling
