One of my client is looking for *DB2 DBA* on AIX, *Richmond, VA*. Rate is DOE. PHONE HIRE!! *Description:* * * • Setup development instances and databases • Partner with vendors to implement vendor databases onsite by following proper standards • Design the security model for user and application connectivity to the database • Assist remote DBA in production environment to coordinate the production database setup • Assume all DBA duties in testing and development environments, maintaining design and data consistency throughout • Assist with database backup/restores between different test systems • Plan and implement migration of database systems to latest version of DB2 on AIX • Supporting the day to day development activities by working with the global development team on database issues. • Performance tuning/troubleshooting. • Run system performance tests in the High Performance Database • Run DB2 Explains on pre-release code and provide feedback for performance improvements. • Follow and adhere to change control policies *Additional information* • Must know AIX versions 5.x and 6.x and specifics of DB2 operations on AIX • Must be well versed in AIX scripting • Must have experience in DB2 version 9.x • Must be able to communicate effectively in both a technical and non-technical manner • IBM DB2 certified preferred • Must have 7-10 years’ experience in a large DB2 environment with responsibilities as a Senior DBA • Experience designing a 24x7 online DB2 on AIX environment • 5 years’ experience with DB2 UDB running on a distributed platform. • 5 years’ experience with DB2 UDB in a multi-partitioned distributed environment. • 2 years database programming including stored procedure and trigger development. • Experience with VLDB (very large database) environments preferred • DB2 UDB performance tuning experience including extensive experience with explains, system snapshots • Strong SQL skills including the ability to rewrite complex queries for performance improvements. • Must possess good written and verbal communication skills. • Ability to prioritize, multitask and work with remote team members Warm Regards, * Vasu * Tel: 714-857-2002 Ext:815 | Fax: 714-364-9705 *[email protected]** *| *www.BeyondTekIT.com Alternate E.Mail:[email protected] * -- Introduce business in 3800 cities.
