*Job Title : Technical Writer Location : Birmingham,AL Duration : 6+Months Rate : $45/Hr* We are looking for someone who has worked in software product delivery and has experience in authoring content for a software developer audience. It is not enough to just have technical documentation experience targeting the end-user. The person holding this position will be responsible for writing and maintaining technical and instructional material for various internal and external audiences. You will be authoring requirements and technical specifications as well as user guides for technical and non-technical readers. The ideal candidate will be technically articulate, have a passion for high quality software development and will have worked on multiple software projects using an agile/SCRUM methodology. Responsibilities • Analyze and understand business processes and the software lifecycle • Develop technical documentation including: Software specifications, user guides, FAQs, developer guides/best practices, operations guides, API documentation, release notes, workflows and other types of documentation as needed. • Translate complex technical concepts into easy-to-understand and straight-forward user documentation • Develop writing standards and document templates • Develop innovative/creative ways to create and maintain documentation on agile development projects • Assist in ensuring high quality output by staying apprised of functionality and consistently communicating changes • Acquires subject knowledge by interviewing developers and business sponsors • Contribute to one or more simultaneous initiatives • Contribute to the continuous improvement of the team by raising internal awareness and education • Contribute to the team’s ability to make and deliver on their commitments • Accurately estimate tasks and produce consumable deliverables on time • Update and maintain existing internal and client-facing documentation Skills Basic Qualifications: • Bachelor’s Degree Preferred (Journalism, English, Technical Communications, Computer Science or related) • 3+ years in a technical writer role contributing to the delivery of software products • Experience with MS Office Products (particularly Word, Excel and PowerPoint) Other Qualifications: • Excellent written and verbal and written communication skills • Ability to multi-task effectively • Excellent organization skills • Familiar with web application development and web services development • Expertise with Adobe content authoring products • Experience writing technical content leveraging models (UML, etc.) or diagrams preferred • Experience working on fast-paced, agile development projects preferred • Familiar with e-publishing industry and content hosting preferred --------------------------------------- Thanks and Best Regards, Sam Riley | Lead Technical Recruiter Email: s...@panzersolutions.com Direct: 201-710-8278 -- Introduce business in 3800 cities.
