OVN switches support assigning MAC and Ip addresses automatically, by
setting the addresses of the port on dynamic. This seems to work properly
looking at the content of dynamic_addresses in the northbridge.
Autogenerated MAC and IP all over, all unique, all good.

Ok, now, how do these addresses get anywhere outside of OVN's NB? The
actual interface bound to these ports do not seem to pick up the MAC or
IPs, sure, there is DHCP, but that only works to propagate the IPs, and
doesn't help with MAC.

As a result, I'm really questioning what is the purpose of this feature, or
how it is intended to be used.

So, how are these autogenrated MAC addresses are supposed to be used in
practice? Am I completely off base in terms of use case here?

Thanks in advance,

Amaury Séchet
