I got it to work. I did the following: - I adjusted the following in ./rhel/openvswithc.spec Changed this: `Requires: logrotate, hostname, python-six` To this: `Requires: logrotate, hostname, python2 >= 2.7, python2-six`
- That error message from `yum localinstall` is not accurate. When performing an install with `rpm -Uvh ./openvswitch-2.17.2-1.el8.x86_64.rpm` I see the following ``` error: Failed dependencies: python3 < 3.6.6-13 conflicts with (installed) platform-python-3.6.8-45.el8.x86_64 python3 < 3.6.6-9 conflicts with (installed) platform-python-devel-3.6.8-45.el8.x86_64 ``` So I just installed with RPM instead `rpm -Uvh --force --nodeps ./openvswitch-2.17.2-1.el8.x86_64.rpm` This did the trick, and it installed.
