Hello OWASP member, chapter/project leader and registered mailing list subscriber.
I am very happy to introduce you all to Paulo Coimbra who has just agreed to become OWASP employee #2 (in part time until July and full time from then) Paulo has past experienced in Management, Finances and Marketing (he was a Finance director for a book publishing company in Portugal, a Marketing director for a Portuguese university (where we worked together a couple years ago), and not afraid to stand up and defend what he believes in. I meet Paulo during a trip to Angola when working for the same Portuguese University. We both currently live in London and meet regularly for dinner and coffees. Paulo is a great success story for OWASP and it shows how OWASP's openness and 'Just do it and be proactive' attitude allows talent to shine and be noticed (he made a massive difference in SpoC 07 (see http://www.owasp.org/index.php/OWASP_Spring_Of_Code_2007_-_Projects and http://www.owasp.org/index.php?title=OWASP_Spring_Of_Code_2007_-_Projects&limit=250&action=history) ) It is important to note that Paulo is actually a bit over-qualified for the Job, and the only reason we are privileged to have his time and focus is because his English is not as good as his Portuguese (where he has an MBA on "Monetary Integration Theories"). Note: he is currently completing his English studies here in the UK. See below the email that Paulo ([EMAIL PROTECTED]) just sent to the OWASP leaders with his current action plan and references to two exciting developments here at OWASP: - the next season of code: https://www.owasp.org/index.php/OWASP_Summer_of_Code_2008 - and the current draft proposal for classification of OWASP projects: https://www.owasp.org/index.php/Category:OWASP_Project_Assessment) Please join me in giving a very warm welcome to Paulo to OWASP Welcome on Board Dinis Cruz Chief OWASP Evangelist http://www.owasp.org ---------- Forwarded message ---------- From: Paulo Coimbra <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Date: Feb 27, 2008 9:11 PM Subject: [Owasp-leaders] OWASP's new Project Manager + OWASP Summer of Code 2008 + OWASP's Project Assessment Criteria To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Hello everyone, I wanted to introduce myself to one and all as OWASP's new Project Manager. As some of you already know, I began working with OWASP part-time last year as the SpoC's 07 Project Manager. Recently my relationship with OWASP has changed. We've agreed I'll be working part-time until next June. After that, I'll assume the job on a full time basis. It is with great enthusiasm that I accepted this job. I will do my best to live up to the trust that you have placed in me. As OWASP's Project Manager, here's an idea of my short-term work plans: 1 – To launch and manage the new season of code – OWASP Summer of Code 2008. 2 – To contribute to and stabilize OWASP's new Project Assessment Criteria.* * 3 – To contribute to the assessment, and re-assessment, of all OWASP projects. 4 – To build and maintain a wiki page with the status of all OWASP projects and their assessments. 5 – To welcome new developers who are interested in joining OWASP community. 6 – To help project leaders and participants with their projects in any way that I can. I take this opportunity to say that your comments on OWASP Summer of Code 2008 <https://www.owasp.org/index.php/OWASP_Summer_of_Code_2008> would certainly be very useful. In addition, we are also interested in your opinions about the OWASP's Project Assessment Criteria<https://www.owasp.org/index.php/Category:OWASP_Project_Assessment> . To summarize, I am very pleased about the prospect of contributing to the achievements of this organization and look forward to this new phase of our relationship. However, I know that my performance will depend on your feedback. So, I am counting on it and I thank you all in advance. Best regards.
