Aloha! As promised, a follow-up to last night's brief chat about scheduling...
1) Historically, the chapter has held meetings through the Summer. As of right now, we do not have any speakers specifically in mind for those times, and so I was wondering what the group thinks about taking off July, and possibly August? 2) There was interest in a more social-oriented meeting when brought up last night. My thought is that we could perhaps have a social meeting in August (or maybe September?) in lieu of the regular meeting. Thoughts? If anybody is interested, I think we would warmly welcome volunteers to help with planning & execution. 3) As noted in an earlier email today, we do not currently have a speaker lined-up for June. Any volunteers or suggestions? 4) One of the regular meetings this year will be dedicated to "lightning" talks (15-minute presos - less formal). As we work to set the schedule through the end of the year, we'll make sure to let everybody know when to show up. Depending on level of interest, we can either schedule talks ahead of time, or we could use an unconference approach and let folks show up with a short talk in hand ready to present. :) Please feel free to send your feedback direct or on-list.
