Hello from Gregg C Levine Paul, can you relate the environment you used for testing your DS2436 device? It seems I ordered a bundle of them for a project, probably concerning a batch of OEM Polaroid batteries. It also happens that they number 8, which tells me I had an interesting time convincing them to send them. This came up back when the original list was active on the Dallas Semiconductor servers.
Also I found a Win32 program which can communicate with the device. It does tell me the voltage of the test source, and the temperature, which was supposed to be that of the pack, actually turns out to be that of my work area. It does what it was designed to do remember, that DS2438 was designed for a completely different application area. I'll probably start testing the DS2436 under OWFS over the next few days. And have a better idea then, but thatÂ’s why I asked all of these, and explained why I obtained them. Funny thing, a note enclosed with the EVK software describes what style adapters would work with the software, one of them was a specialty unit which would connect to a serial port, and do exactly what the DS9123O does now the original named part was DS9123, and probably only available the same way.
