If you don't need the extended character set and the busy flag, tying D7 to 
GND is quite ok. But I need äöüÄÖÜß, which are at 0x80+ positions -- not with 
HD44780s character ROM, but with its successor HD66712.

the correct one for the 4-Bit owfs LCD driver? Then I will connect the P3..P7 
and -STROBE line like that.
