A related question: What about symlinks, so one can see the target node when 
listing "chain" with ls? I know a decent program could always 
check .../0/address, but "ls" isn't that clever.

Symlinks can be also useful for the / and uncached directory, so one can see 
the target bus of the device when listing / or uncached.
