Subject: LCD "spare" ports
To: [EMAIL PROTECTED]

I've been fiddlin' with this all weekend, and am out of clues.

The hobby-boards LCD board is supposed to have three extra lines
that aren't used by it; under 29.something/sensed.[012] I get nothing
while I change the state on the switches. The switches are good...there
must be something else I'm doing wrong.

I'm guessing you have one there, it's how you knew to make both the
LCD_H and LCD_M (or whichever), and while that wasn't just last week,
maybe you remember something about it, or at least talk to someone else
about it. Am I wrong?

What bothers me is that, when I write a "0" to PIO.[012], it clears
(and makes useless) the LCD display. But the schematic suggests that
those are the unused lines. Could that be a typo? I'll fiddle with the
sensed.[567] lines and see what happens.

Worse yet, I can't seem to find anyone to talk to about it; there's
no Google conversations about a working LCD, just "Is anyone else using it?"

I'd appreciate anything you can do to help.
