Regarding protocol property, maybe proposing alternate slave is discussable.

As you, I simply note that 1-wire offer is slowly going out.
My offer is not an competing product to Maxim-Dallas, It is more a
complementary solution to existing standard products.

I agree for your remarks regarding reliability of standard 1-wire and that
was one of the reasons that motivated me to develop this alternate slave.
Firstly, every "transactions" are crc verified and acknowledged. Secondly,
proposing the opportinity to embedd logic within the slave allows to include
some conditional security guardrail within automation processes.

Of course, more robust solutions like RS485 or CAN exists and are recognized
as industry standard, however owfs comunity is alive and still find some
interest in the 1-wire alternative.
