Hi folks

I've solved this and got a working owfs via a local compile on the
sheevaplug.  I noticed that owfs was disabled in the configure and this was
[apparently] because fuse was not present.

So I installed the fuse packages and made a successful second run at it.
Sorry this is a little vague because I did it with apt-get...now got the
first digital thermometer running and storing into an RRDtool database.

Thanks to all who made suggestions, sorry the description of the fix is a
little inexact.
