I have had owfs running with a USB adapter since I got my pi back in June. I have had only one crash in all that time, I use the version from the owfs site and compile it on the pi at every release. I have used the early Debian images and I am now using the latest rasbian supplied from the raspberry pi web site. The results of the system can be seen at:
