looking at the LCD controller pin5 and pin 6 are not connected on the board. Measuring of the DS2450R output shows 5V between 1 and 2. Also on the device 2 and 4 are connected, both are GND.
If you think it makes sense I can also install owfs on the windows-PC as it is Dual-Boot with Linux.

To me datasheet says pin1 is +5V and pin6 is gnd
There can be huge differences in the power capabilities of usb ports on different machines, that's why I am insisting on power.

In both scenarios (with power from the DS2450R and with extra power supply) the windows/OneWireViewer works, the Linux/OWserver doesn't.The only hardware difference is in the different PCs, i.e. I unplug the DS2450R from the Windows-PC and plug it into the Linux-PC. That tells nothing. To check what's wrong, it's important to connect the
LCD controller, then read /uncached. When the 81.xxxx in the DS9490R
magically disappears when connecting the LCD controller, you have a
power or cabling problem.
