First check whether the kernel w1 subsystem is working. Devices should
appear in /sys/bus/w1/devices/

Then update to the latest version

        https://sourceforge.net/projects/owfs/files/owfs/3.1p1/

as it has a fix which makes the --w1 work again with kernels after
linux-3.16-rc1, which you most likely use.
