Hi Paul, Are you sure nothing else uses the BigOWLIM repository? Like e.g. a tomcat with sesame workbench application or another JVM that has initialized and uses a connection to the repository? Also, please verify that you have write access to the repository folder. This is a very usual case of locking issues.
