Hi, >From my POV, shortening is possible with a dedicated controller, a simple DB table containing the source | destination fields, and (optionally) mod_rewrite rule for apache / dedicated location for nginx. As soon as portability restrictions make it impossible to use DB constrains this table should be revised by cron.
