Hmmm,

what I like about Doodle is that is so simple and reduced to the point.
Integrating it with Calendar, Contacts and the coffee-machine has the potential 
to make it worse and not better.
A very simple stand alone ownCloud app is actually a neat idea IMHO.

Only my opinion of course. :-)
