Sorry for the late reply. This looks quite promising and I'll run some experiments on the weekend. The NuGet package is expired, but the source downloads and (mostly) compiles. A pre-baked simple protocol is what I'm after, and I'm too old to write my own. Although, it doesn't seem to have any "callback" mechanism. I'm alarmed that it uses the Google invented Protocol Buffers, but that seems to be an internal implementation you don't have to worry about. *GK*
