Hi Greg,
We normally do it from Azure DevOps now with an Azure Web App Deploy task but quote from here might help: https://stackoverflow.com/questions/19377217/deploying-a-web-site-to-azure-as-a-package “you can create a publish profile in Visual Studio that creates a Web Deploy Package which is simply a ZIP file that can be published at a later time using command-line tools, no Visual Studio required. It also generates a .deploy.cmd file that you can run to deploy to a remote server, and a SetParameters.xml file with parameters such as connection string that you can modify for your target deployment environment. The .deploy.cmd file calls msdeploy.exe which does the actual deployment.” Regards, Greg Dr Greg Low 1300SQLSQL (1300 775 775) office | +61 419201410 mobile│ +61 3 8676 4913 fax SQL Down Under | Web: <https://nam06.safelinks.protection.outlook.com/?url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.sqldownunder.com%2F&data=02%7C01%7Csspahelp%40microsoft.com%7C1f0ea4d6b97e4d897f3708d666d1e890%7C72f988bf86f141af91ab2d7cd011db47%7C1%7C0%7C636809449091516274&sdata=SLHeEGAMmWUY5YIwcC4oAPYr%2F9RIZdi4MNASsdzwX2I%3D&reserved=0> www.sqldownunder.com | <https://nam06.safelinks.protection.outlook.com/?url=http%3A%2F%2Fgreglow.me%2F&data=02%7C01%7Csspahelp%40microsoft.com%7C1f0ea4d6b97e4d897f3708d666d1e890%7C72f988bf86f141af91ab2d7cd011db47%7C1%7C0%7C636809449091526278&sdata=IU8tnAITCjBxWafi3A9XpO9lF3PIwZJ8ad3t36lnxvs%3D&reserved=0> http://greglow.me From: [email protected] <[email protected]> On Behalf Of Greg Keogh Sent: Monday, 15 July 2019 12:42 PM To: ozDotNet <[email protected]> Subject: Re: Distributing Azure apps I’ve seen custom powershell scripts and also automated pipelines (with CI/CD) in Azure DevOps aka VSTS Damn, that's too hard or too specialised. Is it possible there is actually no formal way of packaging an app for Azure deployment? -- GK
