Ok now a consumer point of view again - keeping in mind not
to be pety or against doctors - it is the "system" that is all
wrong! I agree here!
I think while all these birthing the future type mesages are
good they don't make people look. Oh yeah - something about
birth is the general attitude that this seems to attract.
To get people to look and take notice you need to put it in
their face - our shop for example we called "Body Pleasure"
it is a piercing shop and for the first two years or so people
would walk past our entrance and say "Body Pleasure? Whats
that? Ohhh piercing! Humph giggle - that's not
Pleasurable ...etc etc.." But it made them look and talk and
take notice. Now the shop is well known.
You need something short so it is quick to read - people
don't like reading more than a few words and really catchy so it
makes them think, talk and take notice. I think that
is where the pizza idea was good.
So ladies - thinking caps on I am sure you can be more
outlandish and eyecatching with your slogans. Think of
what you are trying to fight against - apathy, the current
attitudes, the system as it is, glorified medical births, easy
safe epidurals for all etc etc...
I can't think of anything myself but I know the concept
behind marketting that works and that is what you need to keep in
mind - you are basically trying to sell the idea of safe natural
and supported childbirth. Sell it to the people who don't
understand and then you will have reform. Sell it to the
women who are not converted and then you will have your
reform.
Yes it is the way of the future but you need to change so
many more attitudes first. Saying the computers were the way
of the future didn't sell them - saying that they were easy to
use, functional, helpful etc etc... that is what sold them.
Sorry for such a long rant - hope it helped inspire - get
your visual pictures happening - what would catch your
eye?
Regards
Rhonda
