Dear rose
Can you please explain the midwifery input or relationship with the woman and the doctors in the Mercy family birth centre in Melbourne as I know of another which has the same name and it is not a midwifery model of care??

Having waterbiths or other aids or freedoms to move does not a birth centre make!

Dear Denise,

Could you add to your list the Family Birth Centre at the Mercy Hospital For Women in East Melbourne. They also now allow water births.  Also, the Hawthorn Birth Centre is still open as I heard of a woman having a lovely water birth there only a few weeks ago.

Dear Denise,

Just wanted to let you know that Camden's birth centre has not closed.  However, mother's now birth their babies at Campbelltown in the birth centre room.  The main clinic and midwives still work mainly from Camden.

Yours Sonia
