Hi Cheryl
Its all an amazing coincidence - I wrote an article for the latest Family
Circle -15 Ways to Help Your baby Sleep -and guess which one they have
'highlighted' - a little piece that says -mothers and babies who sleep
together share the same sleep cycles.
The Practical Parenting article was also written a while ago -I tend to lose
track a bit about when they are due out -I knew the co-sleeping one would be
in the next issue but didnt realise it had hit the stands as I dont have my
copy yet.

There was an article -very small- at the weekend re a study at Durham
University that said 63 % of parents often take their babies into bed with
them - "making the practice more widespread than thought" (quote).

I pointed the ACA reporter to this research so I hope its mentioned too -
still wondering who this forensic prof Baird is from Adelaide and how they
will show the mums co-sleeping on ACA - Id hate to know a camera was on me
in bed at night!
Memories of this am are coming back -The reporter saying -"so is it worth
the risk (to co-sleep)?" after I had said it isnt risky if parents provide
a safe sleeping environment - wherever baby sleeps - and both accept
responsibility for the baby's safety - are sober nonsmokers etc . I think
they got the gist of what I was saying and the two mums are women I provided
so I reckon it should be quite positive.

My co sleeping "evolved" too, Cheryl, and now hes grown up I joke with my
poor first born that he was the one I practised on. When you get up to bub
no 3, I dont think many people have the enrgy to keep on waking up at night
and getting out of bed -I know I didnt -it may have been the 'line of least
resistance' but it was a lovely thing to do - and now they've all got big, I
get to sleep all alone with hubby and his CPAP machine - not at all
"delicious!"
