Denise, The WCH has had a working party set to offer caseload there for about the last 7-8 years. In the last 4 or so years Chris Cornwell worked with Rob Bonner from the ANF to get a salaried wage specifically for caseload. this was so that the midwives didn't have to worry about time in leiu etc and not use the current nursing award to pay midwives who want to work in this way. So this salaried wage agreement has been formulated for the WCH with the ANF and signed off by the DHS (Deparment of Human Services) and the Industrial Commision. The agreement details the amount of hours allowed work by the midwives, how many women they can care for etc. Contact the ANF in SA for details. The WCH started Midwifery Group Practice (MGP) on the 25/1/03, so it was a big weekend for Chris and everyone involved. I am home enjoying being a Mum and will go back to it in September. Jackie
