An ICU !!
I had my infusion at the rooms of a haematologist where apparently they do several a day!
It is an option presented by Nutritional medicine Drs with a full history and concerns only with those with a history of alllergic reactions.
I had the lights down low in my room and slept thru most of it - the first time I had an afternnon nap since I breast fed my now 21 year old!!

I believe iron infusions, as opposed to intramuscular iron injections, can
be risky. At my workplace they do not take place on the wards, but only
under supervision in the intensive care unit. As you seem to be saying, the
woman does not seem to have any indication that such drastic action is
required.

Not too sure if this isn't part of the same thread about 'dramatic' women,.
What do any of you know about the risks/benefits of iron infusions after
a PPH?
Hb @ 5 weeks is 91, but mother active, walking, good milk supply
(always), happy...
Anyway, she's been advised by a medico to have an iron infusion and I
can find very little in any of my Obs or midwifery texts.
